When you have a sightseeing trip to Nara in Japan, I recommend you got to Omiwa Shrine which is said to be the oldest shrine in Japan. You can feel the ancient worship style of Shintoism here.
Omiwa Shrine is in Sakurai City where you can go from Nara city in 30 minutes by train. This shrine is believed to be the oldest shrine in Japan, and there are some mentions about the establishment of this shrine in the Kojiki and Nihon Shoki which are the Japanese oldest chronicles.
