Yoshikien Garden in Nara city
Yoshikien Garden is one of the famous gardens in Nara city. It is located in Manishu-in which used to be a residence of high priests of Kohfuku-ji temple by the end of Edo period.
The history of Yoshikien Garden
In Meiji era, Yoshikien garden was possessed by a private owner.
In 1919, the present gardens and buildings were built and used as a corporate guest house.
Until the end of the Showa period, it was owned by Nara Prefectural Government and has been to a public sightseeing place.
